A Month-Long Literary Adventure

Join us this April for the Wilkes Book Crawl, a self‑paced celebration of reading and local discovery through bookstores and book‑selling shops in Wilkes.

Explore unique locations, collect stamps on your Book Crawl passport, and earn prizes at multiple tiers of participation — from first stops to the full crawl!

How It Works

Step 1: Get your Passport.
Print yourself or pick it up at a participating location.

Step 2: Visit locations throughout April
Collect stamps at each stop you make.

Step 3: Redeem your prize
-Visit a few locations to earn a guaranteed Tier 1 or Tier 2 prize.
-Visit every location to win another prize and an entry to the Grand Prize drawing!

Tier 1 – Casual Reader
Visit 3 locations to receive a handcrafted bookmark (while supplies last).

Tier 2 – Avid Reader
Visit 6 locations to receive an exclusive Wilkes Book Crawl branded cinch bag (while supplies last).

Grand Prize – Ultimate Crawler
Visit all participating locations to receive an exclusive Wilkes Book Crawl branded reading journal AND to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing, which includes a handmade tote and a collection of gift cards/prizes donated by participating businesses.

Wilkes Heritage Museum

The Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. was established in 1968 with the intent of restoring the Old Wilkes County Jail to its original 1860 appearance and operating it as an educational center for the community. Since then, restoration of the Old Wilkes County Jail has been completed as well as the 1779 home of Captain Robert Cleveland, the late 19th century Finley Law Office, and the 1902 Wilkes County Courthouse.

Rules & Prize Info

📍 Participation

Everyone is welcome! No purchase is required to receive a passport stamp.
One passport per person.
Visit participating bookstores and other literacy locations throughout April 2026 to collect stamps.

🎁 Prizes & Redemption

TIER 1 – Casual Reader
Visit 3 locations to receive a handmade bookmark (while supplies last).
Prize pickup available at The Book Room.

TIER 2 – Avid Reader
Visit 6 locations to receive a Wilkes Book Crawl branded canvas pouch (while supplies last).
Prize pickup available at The Book Room.

GRAND PRIZE – Ultimate Crawler
Visit all participating locations to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing, which includes a handmade tote plus gift cards and prizes donated by participating businesses.
Completed passports must be submitted at The Book Room by April 30, 2026.
Grand Prize winners will be notified in early May.

⚖️ Eligibility Restrictions

Owners of participating locations, along with their immediate family and household members, may complete a passport and receive Tier prizes but are not eligible for the Grand Prize drawing.

Immediate family members: parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, or spouses.
Household members: anyone living in the same residence for at least three consecutive months per year, whether related or not.

ℹ️ Additional Information

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
The Wilkes Book Crawl organizers reserve the right to adjust rules or prizes if necessary.
By participating, you agree that event organizers may share photos or posts from the event for promotional purposes.
